Release Notes September
September 20 Release Notes (v 1.10)
Release Date
• The Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu release, including the changes below, is expected to release Tuesday, September 20, 2011.
Level Cap
• The Level Cap has been raised to Level 45.
• Upon reaching Level 45, players will now return from being smashed with 8 Life and 20 Imagination, as opposed to the normal 4 Life and 6 Imagination.
Ninjago Monastery Zone
• Minifigures who have joined the Nexus Force will have access to the Ninjago Monastery zone. They can launch to the Monastery from Nexus Tower.
• This zone introduces 4 new versions of Spinjitzu – Earth, Lightning, Ice and Fire. Minifigures must learn these by completing specific Missions for Cole, Jay, Zane, Kai and Sensei Wu.
• The Ninjago Monastery Zone contains over 86 new Missions and over 60 new Achievements. 13 new Daily Missions have also been added. Please note that Sensei Wu's Daily Missions have very exciting and rare rewards!
• Skeletons armed with Maelstrom weapons are attacking the Monastery. Some have new abilities such as poison and stun.
• Each element of Spinjitzu is taught in a specific Dojo, which features themed gardens outside and a puzzle-filled Attic in the space above each Dojo.
• The Bone Wolf prowls the Ninjago Caves underneath the Monastery.
• Using the new versions of Spinjitzu, Minifigures can now travel between Ninjago lanterns, allowing for quicker movement in the Ninjago Monastery zone.
• New puzzles have been introduced, including those that may require two players to complete. Such puzzles are marked with an icon showing two Minifigure heads.
• After completing a few Missions, Minifigures can speak to Johnny Umami in the Courtyard to learn more about Cooking. By using certain items, Johnny Umami can create more powerful consumable items.
• Minifigures will be able to face off against Skeleton enemies from the Ninjago toy line. Smash Chopov, Bonezai and Krazi to prevent them from finding the Golden Weapons of Spinjitzu!
• 1 to 4 Minifigures will be able to take on Frakjaw in his own Battle Instance. This instance scales in difficulty with the number of Minifigures who attempt it. This is a mid-Level encounter.
• Many new Smashables have been added, some of which can be rebuilt and used against the Skeletons.
• Over 50 new items have been added to this zone, including the Ninjago Hound Treat, Thought Blade, and the Sushi Delivery System.
• Some powerful Elite weapons can be created by purifying Maelstrom Weapons you claim from the Skeletons. Visit Nya in the Monastery to begin this Mission chain.
• New "Ninjago Monastery" models are available from Bubu Mumu, the Monastery's Models Vendor.
• New "Skeleton Outpost" models are available as drops from smashing Skeletons and Skeleton supplies.
• Minifigures can now tame the Rock Dragon Pet after completing certain missions in the Ninjago Monastery.
Other Changes
• The pet taming item for the Tortoise pet has been changed.
• Players can now single-click items in the Action Bar to use them (this can be returned to the original functionality in the Options menu).
• Trade changes detailed in this article are now active
• Resizing the backpack will now stay at its new size in-between game sessions.
• Look for Shouty McBullhorn in Nimbus Plaza and start the Nexus Force Championship Mission chain!
• Improvements to double-clicking items in your backpack.
• Named enemies in Crux Prime should spawn as more often.
• Minifigures can now double jump when falling.
• The Nexus Force Championships begin on October 1.
Known issues
• On low end computers, the door between Sensei Wu’s courtyard and the storage room may still appear after it has been smashed. Minifigures can walk through this door after it has been smashed, even if it still appears built.

This week's contest: Recolor a Model!

Patient. Thorough. Orange. A great builder is all these things. Only through careful examination can a minifigure decide that an imposing castle’s walls must be not gray …but neon pink.
Sadly, not all builders share the wisdom that sometimes if you love a model, you must set its colors free. Trees ought to be purple! Trains should be periwinkle! Pirate forts must release their polka dots within! A new splash of color would do wonders to compliment and funkify thousands of properties up and down the Universe. It’s time to get more builders recoloring!
If a Creative Spark is fire, building inspiration is its tinder. Show the world how a vibrantly recolored model spices up your property and you shall be rewarded with thanks and loot, young architect.
Build upwards and always, young geniuses of the Nexus Force!
- Mardolf the Orange
Recolor a model or models using one of your Properties and send a screenshot of its new look to the Creation Lab. The top twenty screenshots will receive special in-game prizes and LEGO Technic sets!
To enter, simply follow these steps:
1. Buy or select a model or models you'd like to recolor.
2. Head into one of your Properties and put on your Thinking Hat.
3. Find your model of choice from the Models section of your backpack and place it on the ground.
4. Click the Brick Build option at the bottom of your screen (the one with the white 2x2 LEGO brick icon).
5. Click the "Edit Model" option to split your model into its base pieces (NOTE – some models will not require this step)
6. Using the "Color" option at the bottom of your screen and the "Color Picker" palette just above your backpack, redesign your model however you wish.
7. Take a screenshot of your recolored model(s) and send them to the Creation Lab. It’s easy as that!
The more intriguing your screenshot, the better your chance to win!

Trade Safely in LEGO Universe!
Did you just get a spare Elite Broadsword off that Maelstrom Infected Ape? Have two Explorien Bot Shirts? Want to buy a Mosiac Jester Wand to complete your set? Here is a guide on how to trade, and trade safely, in LEGO Universe.
Starting a trade is very easy – walk up to the Minifigure you want to trade with, press CTRL and select Trade from the menu on the right hand of the screen.
A window will open up with two sides. The left represents your offer, the right is what the other person is offering.
You can drag and drop an item from your backpack into your side of the window.
As long as your side of the window is NOT green, the other person can NOT take your item.
This is an important fact to note – until your side of the window is green, your item is still yours. This gives you a chance to discuss the trade and add or remove items.
Until you are happy with the trade, you should never click the Trade button. Clicking the Trade button indicates that you are ready to trade. If either you or the other Minifigure changes what is in the window after you have hit trade, the window will change from green back to gray and you will have to accept the trade again.
Do not let anyone convince you that you need to hit Trade unless you are ready to give away your item or coins.
In the above picture, you can see that Elementron has offered an Explorien Bot Shirt and Imaginatrix has offered 200 coins. Imaginatrix has also clicked "Trade", indicating she is happy with the transfer. If Elementron clicks "Trade" he will accept the offer and receive 200 coins, Imaginatrix will receive the shirt.
The steps to trade are easy:
1. Hit CTRL and select trade when you are next to the person you want to trade.
2. Add the coins or items you want to the left hand side of the trade window.
3. Do not hit Trade until the other person has put something you want in the right hand window.
Here are a few hints to trading:
1. Don't let anyone talk you into clicking "Trade". If you don't like the terms, you can always click the "X" in the corner to cancel the trade.
2. Make sure that the items you want from the trade is showing in the trade window before clicking "Trade".
3. If you have clicked "Trade" and the other person changes their offer, your window will change to gray again – make sure the changed offer is something you still want.
Trading is a fun part of LEGO Universe, but always trade with caution!
